GROWERS who supply malting barley to Simpsons Malt, will be able to get the latest technical info from its new crop guru, Jamie Ramshaw. The family-owned maltster’s technical sales manager will be based in Tivetshall St Margaret Maltings, and will head up the sales division for the UK. Previously in a similar role with Murphy and Sons, he comes from a brewing background having also worked at Wells and Young’s for 12 years. In this new role, Mr Ramshaw will be responsible for sales around the UK, with a focus on England and Wales, with particular emphasis on utilising his brewing experience. Richard Simpson, vicechairman of Simpsons, said: “We are delighted to have Jamie on board. Having known him through the industry for nearly 20 years, we understand his background and his passion for a challenge.” Mr Ramshaw is from Oakham, Rutland. His professional qualifications include an Institute of Brewing and Distilling (IBD) master brewer qualification.
