THE NEXT ‘big thing’ in fungicides is just around the corner, says Syngenta, which has achieved an important milestone in the development of its major new fungicide IZM (isopyrazam) in the UK.

It has just completed the first stage of the official registration system and is undergoing development as a next generation foliar fungicide in cereals and other crops.

Septoria tritici and rust in wheat, plus rhynchosporium, net blotch and ramularia in barley, are key targets, with testing showing it provides repeatedly high yield responses and long-lasting control.
