SCIENTISTS and an industry think tank are worried that laboratory and field isolates of septoria tritici with reduced sensitivities to SDHI fungicides may herald a much wider field-scale problem. Following a statement on the topic from the Fungicide Resistance Action Group-UK (FRAG-UK), the AHDB has pointed out that there are mutations which confer a change in sensitivity to SDHI fungicides that have been detected in the field and from laboratory mutation studies - but not all affect field performance.
