A good consignment of freshly calved cows and heifers forward for the Border and Lakeland Holstein Club show and sale at Carlisle, saw trade peak at 3000gns for the champion, Boclair Lou Elegance, a potential eighth generation Ex classified cow from Jack and David Brewster, Boclair, Glasgow.
A Jeeny-Lou Marshall daughter from a VG85-2yr Durham dam followed by an Ex92 full sister to the All American Budjon-JK Linjet Eileen Ex96, she sold to A and B Bargh, Woodclose, Skelton.
The second prize winner to the champion went on to take the reserve honours for Hodgsons from Wormanby, Burgh by Sands. This was Wormanby Champion Lisa, by Champion and bred from six dams classified in the top two grades. She sold for 2400gns, giving 34kg per day to J and J Barr Farm, Easter Bucklyvie, Fife.
