An unplaced bull secured the lead price of 4700gns at a society show and sale of Simmental cattle which included the dispersal of D and N Field's Burytown herd from Blunsdon, at Carlisle.

The bull, Chestermann Carlisle 11, a rising two-year-old from Whithorn-based breeders N and N Gwynne, Castlewigg, is by Blackford Ringleader and out of Hirwaun Mabli. He sold to JB Henry, Symington Mains, Stow, Galashiels.

The male champion Ben-nant Cedric 11, from Welsh breeders, BT and MC Raymond, Nantymab Isaf, sold next at 4400gns to RH Widdicombe, Ashprington, Devon. Placed second in his class at the Royal Welsh, this similarly aged bull is by Dovefields Gallant.
