Charollais sheep breeders suffered a disappointing sale at Lanark, when less than half of the catalogued entry of ram lambs were able to find new homes.
From an entry of 37 ram lambs and 11 females, only 16 lambs were sold to a top price of 2000gns. That was for the reserve champion from Herbie and Alan Kennedy, Parkgate, Dumfries.
Only two other lambs hit the four-figure price barrier.
