Prices reached a ceiling of 12,000gns, and 20 lots sold to average £3654 per head, at the 40th Anniversary Elite Female Show and Sale, held at Omagh, last week.

Hitting the headlines, and setting a new record for a Simmental female sold in Northern Ireland, was Cleenagh Avon from Adrian Richardson, Maguiresbridge. This 17-month-old show winning heifer by the Corrick Kentucky Kid son, Omorga Murray, sold to Ronnie Wilson from Garvary, Enniskillen.

Next at 6000gns was Kilbride Farm Dora 34a, a February 2009-born heifer from breed stalwarts, Billy Robson and Sons, from Doagh, Ballyclare. She is by the 15,000gns Cairnview Snazzy and sold to David Donnelly, Derbyshire.
