Suffolks in demand

Suffolk sheep enthusiasts from far and wide gathered at United Auctions' Stirling Mart for the dispersal of Charlie and Kevin Proctor's Conveth flock from Mains of Tollo, Turriff, where a top price of 6500gns was achieved for a one-crop ewe.

Topping the sale at 6500gns was a ewe by Cairness Achievement, out of a ewe by Strathisla Schumacher. She changed hands in lamb to Cairnton the Cracker, to Belgian breeder, Claude Vanwijnsberghe.

The same buyer took home several of the top priced lots including the second top priced ewe at 5000gns. Again by Achievement, but out of a dam by Cairness Save the Day, she also sold due to The Cracker.
