Pedigree British Blue cattle met a bumper trade at a new society sale at Carlisle, last week, when the bull average levelled at just short of £5000 per head with a top price of just 9000gns being attained on two occasions for two ET bulls from Bedfordshire breeder, Michele Wilde.

First to hit the grade was the male champion and supreme overall, Ridge Dean Dynamo, a two-year-old by Empire D’Ochain from Ridge Farm, Dean Farm Lane, Soulbury. He is out of the Sureau De Mehognes-sired cow, Ridge Dean Navette and sold to NG Beveridge, Low West House, Tow Law, Co Durham.

Minutes later, his ET brother, Ridge Dean Delta, from the same flush made the same price selling to SG Benson, Horrace Farm, Pennington, Ulverston, Cumbria. He was also used at home on heifers and at the pre-sale show stood third in his class.
