The second production sale of British Blues from Graham Brindley’s Bringlee herd which included a guest consignment from Boomer Birch’s Boomer herd, proved a huge success with no fewer than eight lots selling at 5000gns or more backed by a lead price of 13,000gns.
The sale at Carlisle, was led by the 14-month-old ET heifer, Bringlee Desiree, from Mr Bringley’s Shropshire-based herd from The Lees, Market Drayton. His sale topper, the first prize heifer at Agri Expo and champion winner at the Welsh Calf Show, is by Sjaka Zoeloe Van Zwaanhof and out of the herd’s star brood cow, Bringlee Sandy ET, by Elite De L’Orge. She sold back down south being purchased by Ceirian and Anna Jones buying for the Rhiwonnen herd from Lampeter, Ceredigion, while her ET sister, Bringlee Dorinda, another show heifer from the same flush sold for the second top price of 9000gns to WR and WW Jones, Henfache, Llanrhaeadr, Oswestry, Shrops.
Bringlee Sandy also produced three of the next four highest priced lots including Bringlee Estelle ET, a 10-month-old show heifer by Graphite De Dessous La Ville. The buyer was Trevor Ashmore, Rosemount, Ballycarney, Enniscorthy, Co Wexford.
