Charolais Christmas Cracker sale reaches 8000gns

Trade peaked at 8000gns at the Christmas Cracker show and sale of pedigree Charolais cattle at Carlisle, last week, for Lynedraw Galaxy from Penrith-based breeders RW and AJ Jackson.

This18-month-old bull is by Mullaghbane Ulliott and is out of the Stobarts Upright daughter, Baileybanks Connie, and sold to Welsh producers, JP and MJ Davies, Tirmawr, Trellong, Brecon, Powys.

Leading the female trade at 5500gns was the overall champion, Holstead Emdeholly, a rising three-year-old heifer by Durradon Talisman from F and J and EC Andrews, Holt Farm, Holmfirth, Huddersfield, purchased by HP Whittaker, School House, Long Lane, Spurstow, Tarporley, Cheshire.
