Dyfri heifer sells at 10,000gns

A TOP price of 10,000gns was achieved at the production sale of pedigree Limousin females from the Dyfri herd of DG and MJ Edwards, Home Farm, Cilycwm, Carmarthenshire, last weekend, when Scottish breeder, Walter Wight, St Boswells, Melrose, bought an 18-month-old heifer, for his Monkeypuzzle herd.

The sale, staged at Llandovery market, saw this price paid for Dyfri Fioled, a Wilodge Cerberus daughter out of the Jockey-sired Dyfri Afallon.

Next in the bidding stakes at 6000gns was Dyfri Esther, a three-year-old heifer by the home-bred stockbull, Dyfri Adam, and out of Dyfri Bijou, a Senateur daughter. She sold with her Wilodge Cerberus-sired heifer calf, Dyfri Hester, at foot to Avonfinch Ltd, Eton House, Upton Tern, Market Drayton.
