The sale attracted an entry of just over 100 cows and milking heifers, served and maiden heifers and included the virtual dispersal of the young portion of the Forte herd, from AL and HF Nottage of Seething, Norwich, Norfolk, which produced the sale leader in the shape of Forte PSC Renita Red, a daughter of Poos Stadel Classic, bred from six generations of VG/Ex dams from the renowned Stelbro Renita Ranger family.

After a fierce bidding battle this 15-month-old sold to Albert Innes Smith of Ponteland, Northumberland paying the 6300gns.

Two members of the Elegance family were keenly sought after with both sharing the same grand-dam – Forte CS Elegance VG85-2yr, and whose Comestar Stormatic daughter sold for a club record price of 6200gns for a cow last year.

The first high seller from this family was the February, 2009, Mr Sam daughter, Forte Sam Elegance which sold for 4000gns to Peter Royle of the Bolshaw herd based near Coventry, whilst the other was the April, 2009, Damion daughter, Forte E Damion Elegance, which made 4300gns to Peter Waring for his Winton herd based near Beverley, East Yorkshire.
