Riddings dairy dispersal peaks at 2700gns

Trade peaked at 2700gns at the dispersal sale of the Riddings dairy herd, owned by I and P Ellithorn, Riddings Farm, Moat, Longtown, which was held at Borderway Mart, Carlisle.

Taking that top bid was the Dairy Shorthorn cow, Marleycote Tiny 17, which is due her third, by the Shorthorn bull Strickley Bruce. This Llandovery Jinnys Empire daughter out of the Marleycote Tiny 7 VG86, was knocked down to MT Farms Ltd, Aske Stables, Aske, Richmond.

And it was Strickley Bruce, a Dairy Shorthorn bull, that took the joint second top price of 2300gns. The August 2009-born son of Panorama Aramis sold to Messrs Walsh, Bunkers Hill, Greystoke, Penrith.

Matching the 2300gns price tag, and selling to R Kellett and Sons, White House Farm, Slaley, Hexham, was Riddings Jordan Empress by Annandale Jordan.
