BEESTON'S month-end sale of dairy cattle, including sections for the Western Holstein Club's Focus Milk cattle and a consignment of fresh cows and heifers from Nisgaard ApS, of Denmark, took place at Beeston Castle Auction last week.
BULLS from County Durham breeders, P Weightman and Sons, led the trade at a society show and sale of pedigree Blonde cattle at Carlisle, last week, where only five bulls and three females sold to new homes, reaching a top price of 5000gns.
AUCTIONEER Richard Beattie left the rostrum highly delighted following the first Inaugural Spring Balmoral Bull Sales, last weekend in Belfast, with the event witnessing a top price of 7200gns, a 95% clearance and more than a dozen cattle sold for export.
FLECKVIEH cattle sold at the Hamilton family's sale from Slategarry, at Dungannon Auction Mart, saw 49 of the 52 head on offer find new homes, with a top price of 3200gns for a bull and £3000 for a cross-bred female, while pedigree milking heifers peaked at 2500gns.
THE Walkers from Brennand Farm, Dunsop Bridge, led the way at Craven Auction Mart's show and sale of store cattle, at Skipton, winning all but one of the main championships, as well as landing the top price.
