A STEADY trade topped at 1800gns for the pre-sale champion, at the Scottish Beltex show and sale of females, at Lanark last weekend.
Leading the way in both the show and sale was Brickrow Midnight Million, a gimmer from John Cowan’s Brickrow flock at Auchincruive, Ayrshire. Sired by Cookstown Hamish, and out of a home-bred ewe by Corstane Coulter, she is in lamb to Brickrow Nude, a son of Wonderboy. Buyer was G Cropper, Manchester Road, Accrington.
Hitting the 1600gns mark was the sole entry from Gavin Shanks’ Carluke-based Inveresk flock, the gimmer, Inveresk Mount Tata Mailau. A Garrion Lord Yoyo daughter, out of the imported ewe, Van’t Ophoverveld, she is due to Astnagullion Layabout, a tup bought privately in Ireland. She sold to SJ Smith, Penybryn, Welshpool.
Averages: 87 females, £548.05.
