Ettrick tops Texel females at Carlisle

A GOOD show of Texel females from the Tweed, Grey Peel and Ettrick flocks, resulted in many lots hitting the four-figure bracket, selling to a top of 4800gns at Carlisle, on Monday.

Selling for the top price of 4800gns was a gimmer from a Gordon and David Gray's Selkirk-based Ettrick flock. A maternal sister to the first prize gimmer at the Highland in 2011 that sold for 5800gns, she is a Knock Reebok daughter out of ewe by Castlecairn Kung Foo Fighter, and sold in lamb to Garngour Nobleman, to GR and SC Brooke, Upper Huntly Wood, Earlston, who bought several of the lead priced Ettrick females.
