Trade was strong at Harrison and Hetherington’s New Fair sale of ewes and hoggs with lambs and geld hoggs at Kirkby Stephen Mart last week, where the overall average was up by £10.07 per head on the year.

The judge, Charles Headley, Bishop Auckland, awarded the prize for the first prize pen of 10 Mule hoggs and lambs, to Messrs Sowerby, Terrys Farm, which later sold at £94 per life.
