Aberdeen and Northern Marts recently held its annual show and sale of Texel lambs in conjunction with the North of Scotland Texel Sheep Club.
Judge, Bill Cameron, of Burnside of Edingight, Grange, awarded the champion ticket to a pair of 42.5kg Texel crosses from Liam Wink, Bogiebrae, Rhynie. Mr Cameron later backed his decision and bought the pair for £140 per head or 333p per kg.
Taking reserve and selling for the second top price of £100 or 232p, also to Mr Cameron, were 43.5kg pure-bred Texels from I and H Anderson, Newton Carnousie, Forglen.
