A BRITISH Blue cross bullock from T Holmes, Nutholm, was placed overall champion at Hexham and Northern Marts’ annual Christmas show, on Tuesday, and sold for a lead price of £2013, or 300p per kg, to the judge, Mr Jimmy Higginson of Castle Bank Bank Butchers.
Messrs Scott, Low Leam, secured the reserve ticket with a Limousin cross heifer which later sold to £1575 or 300p per kg to H Taylor and Sons, Darlington.
In the prime section, it was Beltex cross lambs from RRE and JR Reay, St Oswalds, which took the overall championship and later sold for £110, as well as the same home being placed reserve champion with a pen of Texel cross lambs which realised £97. They were both knocked down to the judge, Jamie Curle, Bowsden, Berwick.
