Scottish breeder, Martin Irvine, made his presence felt at a society sale of haltered and unhaltered Limousin females at Ballymena, buying the lead priced lot at 1750gns for the Anside herd based at Braehead, Drummuir, Banff.
His purchase, Larkhill Mairead, an 11-month-old heifer by Goldies Hallmark, from Antrim breeders, Brian and Cahir McAuley, is by Goldies Hallmark and out of Larkhill Hazel, a Haltcliffe Doctor daughter.
The sale, which featured heifers ranging in age from nine months to three years, Annadale Jolly, a two-year-old from CH Murray, Cullyhanna, Newry, sell next at 1700gns to Ronan McGurk, Cookstown. The breeding behind this transaction includes Cloughhead Umpire onto a home-bred Ampertaine Commander daughter.
