JUDGE Andrew Ewing (jnr), Drumbretton, Annan, went on to buy his choice of champion at the Tommy Baxter show and sale of 1221 continental store cattle at Mitchells Auction Mart at Cockermouth.
This was a black Limousin cross heifer from RW and JH Emmott, Wythop Hall, which went on to top the sale at £3000.
Reserve was a British Blue cross steer from AG and KF Nicholson, Swinside End, which made £1550 M Keel, Griffin Farm.
By the end of the day, steers averaged £996.89; heifers at £911.00 and young bulls levelled at £1015.00
