HEADING up the North-west Midlands and North Wales Limousin Club spring sale at Carlisle, last week, was the day’s supreme champion, Wilodge Lennox, which sold for 8400gns.
From Christine Williams’ Wilodge herd, based at Park Lane, Shifnal, Shropshire, this September, 2015-born bull is a son of Brutus Hashtag and out of the well-known Diamanté family. He was knocked down to Red House Farm, Aberhafesp, Powys.
Following this, at 5600gns, was Nebo Liam from ML Thomas, Bryn Farm, Nebo, Llanrwst. Liam, by Wilodge Fastrac and out of Nebo Dora, headed home with RJ Roberts, Dysefin Farm, Llanegryn, Tywyn, Gwyndd.
From the same home, Nebo Logan sold to P Roberts, Brynmedd, Llanerchymedd, Anglesey, for 4800gns. He is a son of Ampertaine Elgin and out of Nebo Gingerspice.
Third best, at 5100gns, was Banwy Llew, from Alyn T Edwards, Glanaber, Welshpool. This two-year-old bull, by Chaumeil and out of Dinmore Hope Dire, was snapped up by TH Davies and Sons, Clegyrddwr, Powys.
Selling for 4700gns was AJ and SD Heath’s Ternvalley Lamborghini, from Easton House, Eaton upon Tern, Ternvalley. A Wilodge Fantastic son, out of a Glenrock Caprice daughter, this August, 2015-born bull sold to RM and O Watkins, Upper Cwm Farm, Herefordshire.
Knocked down at 4600gns, and selling to LJ and AI Jones at Penlan, Builth Wells, Powys, was Nanthir Black Lad from Rhiryd Rogers-Davies, Nant Hir, Bala. He’s by Knock Glencoe and out of Nanthir Gwenno.
Avonfinch, Eaton House, Market Drayton, then paid 4200gns for Garyvaughan Liable, from CV Lewis, Buttington New Hall, Welshpool. He is by Garnedd Gower, out of Garyvaughan Ibriella.
Esmors Black Moses, a February, 2016-born, Knock Glencoe-sired bull from Esmor Evans, Monfa, Mold, sold for 4000gns to JP and CI Jones, Maesterran, Penegoes, Powys.
In the female lines, WL and JA Forrester, Twemlows, Higher Heath, Whitchurch, topped the sale at 2050gns with Twemlows Lilth. By Rainbow Simon and out of the Gunnerfleet Casino daughter, Tremlows Hallelujah, she was born in August, 2015, and sold to EW Humphreys and Sons, Gwernybeilliad, Four Crosses, Powys.
Next in the trade stakes, at 1650gns, was another heifer from the same home, the first female into the ring, Twemlows Larissa. By Wilodge Fastrac and out of Tremlows Clarrissa, she was knocked down to Red House Farm, Aberhafesp, Newtown, Powys.
