A PEN of four Texel lambs from John and Annette Capstick, Killington, stood champion and sold for the top price at Hawes Farmers Auction Mart’s special spring show and sale of prime lambs.
Leading the trade at £132 or 322p per kg, they sold to the judge, Martin McIntyre of McIntyre Meats, Bainbridge.
The firm’s sale of prime hoggs saw continentals from FB and GS Watson, Swainby, top at £120, while Swaledale ewes with twin lambs from the same home sold for £168.
