IN a swap around from the pre-sale show, it was the reserve champion that went on to top the summer show and sale of dairy cattle at Mitchells Livestock Auctioneer’s Cockermouth centre, when it sold to the judge for £1920.
That was the first prize Holstein heifer from WC and J Leak, Hill Farm, which sold to James Taylor, of High Whinnow, for that £1920.
The champion, a first prize cow from the same home, also sold to Mr Taylor but this time for £1650.
In-calf heifers also hit £1650 for a Holstein from Beeches.
