A LIMOUSIN cross heifer from W Fleming, Mosstower, stood champion and sold for the top price of 250p per kg (£1510) at Harrison and Hetherington's summer show and sale at St Boswells, on Monday.
Weighing 604kg, the champion animal selected by judge, G Moor of Worsley Wholesale Butchers, Dunsbury, sold to Shaw Fine Meats, Lauder.
The reserve animal, a Limousin cross heifer which scaled 584kg from Messrs Hamilton, Bee Edge, made 242p (£1413) to the judge.
Outwith the show, 20 bullocks levelled at 223p and sold to 237p (+5.0p on the week) while 34 heifers averaged 238p and sold to 256p (+22p on the week).
Averaging 147p (-5.0p on the week), the 31 cast cows peaked at 207p from Brockholes and £1475.34 from Mosstower.
