MORE than 16,000 people watched the National Suffolk sale online to see Gary Beacom's champion ram lamb top the sale at 21,000gns.
The sale, staged at Shrewsbury Auction Mart, was led by a son of Rookery Rodeo, out of a ewe by Cairness Cyclone from Mr Beacom's Lakeview flock from Northern Ireland. Male champion at reserve overall at Balmoral Show in May, he sold to Bryden Nicolson, who farms in Shetland and Duns.
Second top price was 13,000gns paid by Dumfriesshire breeders, Roy and Gregor Hiddleston, Irongray, for a Rhaeadr Dynamic sired lamb from Chris Holmes' Rookery flock from Worcester.
