A PEN of lambs from Willie and Ewan Bennie, Merkins, Gartocharn, lifted the tri-colour ticket before selling for the top breed price at a show and sale of Blackface wedders at United Auctions, Stirling.
Judged, by John Wyllie, from Ladyurd, the pen of 61 later sold to Messrs Braes, Burnshot, for £66.50.
The second prize pen from Messrs Malcolm, Cromlix, made £55.50 and the third prize pen from Messrs Fleming, Shawhead, realised £50.50.
Breed averages were mixed as Blackies levelled at £42.78 (+32p); Mules, £57.12 (+£3.39); Suffolk crosses, £60.28 (-£1.71); Texel crosses, £59.13 (-9p); Beltex crosses, £63.54 (-£3.72); Cheviot crosses, £51.86 (+£1.38).
