TOP price at Penrith and District Farmer’s Mart’s show and sale of 620 rams at Penrith on Tusday was £1350 paid for a Beltex shearling ram from MH Elliott, Espland House, purchased by Mr TH Harrison, Sleddale Hall.
The shearling section saw Beltex average £438 with Suffolks at £433; Charollais at £402 and Texels at £375. 
Ram lamb averages saw Suffolks cash in at £490; Texels at £215 and Beltex at £230.
