TOP and second draw Blackface lambs sold well while third and fourth draws were harder to cash at United Auctions’ sale of almost 11,000 sheep at Dalmally, where the sale average dropped £3.20 on the year.

The show of Blackface lambs judged by Iain Stewart, of Easter Cash, Strathmiglo, saw a pen from Messrs Buchanan, Achnaba, selected champion. They later realised £60.50 while the second prize pen from Clachan Farm, Kilninver, made £58 and the third prize pen from Tayvallich Estate sold for £54. All three lots were purchased by Donald Heuchan, Castle Douglas.
