A two-shear ram from Billy Macpherson's Blackford flock from Croy, sold for the top price of £2100 at Dingwall and Highland Marts' sale at Dingwall, where 136 were sold to average £391.93.

The ram, a home-bred tup by a £4800 Whelphill ram bought at Stirling, shown by daughter Anne, and her husband Raymond Baynes, was purchased by K and J Matheson, Milton of Aberarder.

Blackford also scooped the lead flock average selling five at £1116.

The champion, a shearling ram from Messrs MacDonald, Dalbuiack, Carrbridge, was shown by Jamie Yule and his girlfriend, Zara, and made £1000 selling to Mrs M Hannah, 2 Drumfearn, Isle of Skye.

The reserve honours were presented to a shearling ram from Miss Gemma MacKintosh, Upper Croft Na Garn, Boat of Garten, which realised £550 to Ronnie Downie, Newton of Crathie, Ballater.
