At the annual Belted Galloway Awards, Helen Ryman herd manager of the prestigious Mochrum herd collected two trophies on behalf of David Bertie, Mochrum Estates. Ms Ryman collected the Bolbec Trophy for the animal bred by the exhibitor gaining the most points at the three major UK shows and The Joan Gray Memorial trophy for the female animal of the year. The following day was a successful sale for the Belted Galloways and White Galloways with a large attendance of established and new breeders with buyers coming from as far as Germany and Ireland to view the cattle. The averages for in calf heifers were up on the year by just under £900. The top price of 5800 gns going to Duncan Maxwell from Blairvockie, Drymen with his 21-month-old bull Lomond Bunnahabain.
