A CONTINENTAL cross bullock from TWH Farming, Barlow, Selby, produced the supreme champion at Harrison and Hetherington’s Christmas show and sale at Carlisle, last week, where a good entry of 38 prime bullocks and heifers was forward. 
Judged by Geoff Nutter, that champion was a bullock weighing 576kg which later sold for 257.5p per kg or £1483.20. The reserve honours went to a continental cross heifer weighing 579kg from Messrs Grainger, Kiln Close, Wigton, which made 271.5p or £1571.99 with the same home producing the top price of the day of £1994.67 or 300p for a Limousin cross heifer.
The annual Christmas show and sale of prime lambs attracted an entry of 2236 head, where more than 250 lambs were judged by Michael Lomax, Milnthorpe. 
He awarded the championship to a pen of four Beltex from Messrs Priestley, Cracrop, Brampton. Scaling 39.5kg, they topped the sale at £250 per head when sold to Mulholland Butchers, Great Orton. 
Reserve went to a pen of four 40.5kg Texels from Messrs Batty, Flimby Hill, Maryport, which made £115 a life to A Dawson, Sedbergh.
