Top two tickets head to Monzie

Held at Stirling, on Monday, and judged by George McFadzean, Woodhead of Mailer, the champion weighed in at 480kg and sold for £1290 while the reserve was a 504kg heifer that made £1260. Monzie also consigned the best Charolais-sired calf, a 476kg entry which realised £1220.

Best of the pens of four was a 509kg quad of bullocks from Graham Cameron, Wester Bonhard, which realised £1270. 

Topping the trade at £1380, however was a 472kg Limousin cross heifer from Stanley, with the 425 heifers, which averaged 236.89p, also hitting 307.3p for a 410kg Limousin cross from Coilavoulin. Limousin crosses from Pittentian topped the bullock entry at £1310 for one weighing 464kg and 309.5p for one weighing 420kg. The 580 bullocks levelled at 238.97p.
