New livestock advisor for the Wright Marshall group, based at Beeston, is Steve Jones, who will be available to give guidance for the best options to sellers and buyers of dairy, beef and sheep through the auction system or private treaty sales.

Mr Jones, who will travel the UK extensively to view stock and discuss best fit solutions for livestock trading, will bring a fresh look at the future with his experience of agriculture in other areas of the World. He feels strongly that the industry needs to adapt and embrace change and will help advise on trading options of all livestock through the team at Wright Marshall.

Born a member of the Jones family at Rackery Farm, Rossett, Wrexham, Steve has travelled extensively and has experience of all livestock species and breeds. He worked with prominent pedigree beef herds and sheep flocks in Scotland and Wales, before moving with his young family to Canada where he stayed for 13 years working firstly as general manager of Shore Holsteins specialising in selection and export of dairy stock to many countries around the world. He then became a business partner and managing director of a livestock trading company, again working with dairy cattle but also trading sheep and beef cattle.

Since returning to the UK five years ago, Steve has held the position of director of agriculture for Grahams Family Dairy in Stirling, overseeing the day to day operation of the company’s varied farming businesses. He is now looking forward to helping the Wright Marshall team adapt their business for Brexit and beyond.
