STORE lambs of strength and quality were well bid for at Harrison and Hetherington’s opening sale at Borderway, Carlisle, on Monday, where a pre-sale show was judged by Adam Bell, of Hill Crest, Rosley.
His champion pen from Lule Walton, Goodlie Hill, later sold for £81.
The second prize pen from Jack Richardson, Whitehead Brow, made £80.50 and the third prize pen from Simon Dalton, Greenside Keep, hit £75.
It was, however, a pair of Beltex cross lambs from Greenside Keep that topped the entry at £88 per head.
