Cast sheep sold for £115 for a Beltex ewe from Robinson Wyllie Ltd.

Dumfries

C and D Auction Marts saw 892 lambs sold this week with a Hampshire from Hartbush topping the sale at £142 per head. Price per kg sold to 287p for a Texel from Belridding. Cast sheep (512) sold for £182 for a Texel from Wester Parkgate.

Wooler

Some 1487 sheep were sold by Harrison and Hetherington this week with lambs (948) averaging 258p per kg and selling for £150 for Beltex from Annstead. Cast sheep sold for £187 for a Texel ewe from J Hall and Sons, Bewick Folly.

Huntly

United Auctions sold 1746 lambs at this week’s sale averaging 244.5p per kg and selling to 248p for Blue Texel crosses from Mains of Leslie, Insch, and to £159 for a Texel from Wedderburn, Huntly. Cast sheep sold for £182 for a Beltex cross tup from Goryhill, Glenkindie.

Longtown

Beltex lambs topped C and D Auctions Marts sale this week with lambs (4147) averaging 264.2p per kg and selling to 355p from Firm of WA Clark, Whins, Ecclefechan and £160 from CJ Roots, Kilnford Croft, Dumfries. Cast sheep sold to £270 for Texel ewes from Messrs JD Henderson, East Mill View. Cast cows sold to £1339 for Aberdeen Angus from D Moffat and Son, Bodesbeck, Moffat.

Some 8406 sheep were forwarded by United Auctions with lambs (5831) averaging 259.86p per kg and selling to 349p for Beltex from Carse View. The price per head sold to £178 for a Texel from Hill of Errol. Cast sheep sold for £228 for a Texel ewe from Townhead.

Caledonian Marts sold 147 cattle at this week’s sale with bullocks averaging 270.83p and selling to 330p for both a Limousin from D Dickinson, Brockwoodlees, and a British Blue from DS and RC Taylor, Easter Ochtermuthill. Price per head sold to £2152 for a Limousin from W Dandie and Sons, Learielaw. Heifers averaged 305.43p and sold to 340p for a Limousin from Easter Ochtermuthill and to £2220 for a Limousin from Brockwoodlees. Young bulls sold for 280p and to £2133 for Limousins from Auchenbowie Home Farm, Stirling. Cast cattle sold for £1870 for a Limousin from JH and NT Turnbull, Meadowend.
