The pre-sale champion, a heifer from Paul, Janet, and James Bolland, Airton, went on to secure the top price of £2300 at Craven dairy auction show and sale at Skipton Auction Mart.
This black, silky, good-uddered heifer fresh since January 7 sold to John Howard, Gargrave.
Heifers in milk averaged £2069, with a brace of third calvers cashing in at £1535.
Next in line was a 31kg per day fresh heifer which stood reserve champion for Robin Jennings, South Stainley, going at £2250 to the Coates family, Baildon.
Also heading home in the same trailer at £2200 was a Claynook Directive-sired heifer from the Bollands’ ongoing Dykelands dispersal.
Others over £2000 included an 11-day-calved Charming daughter from Robert and Ellie Crisp, Calton while the top placed cow was a Bolland third calver by Bomaz Daredevil, which made £1650, joining David Smith at Riffa Farm, Otley.
