Averages: 19 heifers in milk, £1610; four cows in milk, £1575
Brackenhill Dr George from Georgina Fort’s Bracken Hill herd, Silsden Moor, secured the lead price of £2150 at CCM Skipton’s fortnightly Craven Dairy sale.
This heifer is sired by King Doc and is yielding 35 litres per day, having sold to Alan and Emily Middleton, Beamsley.
Securing his second championship in the show was Robin Jennings, Stainbank, South Stainley, Ripon, with a 29-litre heifer just 10 days calved. She later realised £2000 when selling to the judge, Rob Marshall, Dacre.
The judge also backed his decision and went to £1700 for his reserve champion from Stephen and Jack Swales, Hutton Rudby. This heifer is giving 30 litres and is sired by Mr Rubi Agronaut.
The Booth family, Shawdale, Lothersdale, then sold heifers to £2050, which stood third in the milk heifer class being sired by Lambda.
Not far behind on the £2000 price tag was a heifer from TD Goldie and Son, Wiskemanor, Danby Wiske, Northallerton. This ABS Sassafras daughter sold giving 25 litres.
