In Ayr, a Limousin heifer made £1900, Simmentals reached 392p per kg, and store hoggs hit £144, and finally, at Thainstone, Simmental heifers fetched up to 433.1p per kg and £2400, Aberdeen Angus bullocks sold for up to £1955, and store lambs reached £165.50.

Stirling UA

Bullocks (752) and heifers (777) averaged 306.94p per kg and 297.37p respectively at United Auctions' weekly store cattle sale.

Bullocks sold to 367.00p for a 376kg Limousin cross from Sketewan and to £2000 for a 674kg Charolais from Molemount.

A 500kg Simmental cross from Neuk, led the heifers at 370.00p, whilst a 725kg Aberdeen Angus cross made £1920 for Whitfield.

On the sheep front, a top call of £148 was paid for a Texel from Station View, with this breeding cashing in at £112,96.

Suffolk and Mules averaged £103.56 and £112.44 respectively, with Romney at £112.28 and Beltex at £128.00. Cheviots and Blackfaces balanced out at £97.35 and £86.97 respectively.

The weekly sale of 415 calves cashed in at £260 having sold to £605 for a Charolais bull from KJ and M Sharp, Wolsty Hall, Silloth.

Limousin heifers sold to £550 from Big Balcraig, with British Blue heifers from AJ and JA McKie, Wedholme Hill, Wigton, also making the same.

The monthly beef breeding sale reached £1750 for Messrs Crawford, High Thorn.

A British Blue cross in calf cow from Ballacutchel Farms, realised £1650.

Among the weaned cattle, Limousin bulls hit £1500 twice, from Messrs Oliver, Walton Woodhead and Messrs Reid, Kirkburn.

Heifers led the proceedings at Craig Wilson's store cattle sale, when a Limousin heifer from the Kay family, Gass, Straiton, made £1900, and Simmentals from Darleith, secured 392p per kg.

Bullocks (381) and heifers (276) averaged 305.8p and 295.3p respectively.

Bullocks peaked at £1880 for an Aberdeen-Angus from the Wardrop family, Fore Rogerton, and to 369p for Limousins from Cairnwhin.

Store hoggs reached £144 for Suffolks from J Walker, Craigneil, whilst Texel in-lamb gimmers from D Morrison, Dalwyne, made £165.

On Tuesday, the firm sold nine dairy cattle to a top of £2200 for a Holstein Friesian heifer from J Kennedy and Son, Perryston.

Another big show of 120 calves and stirks reached £1370 for a Montbeliard cross bull from Messrs Hogarth, Knockrivoch, with British Blue cross heifers realising £1160 for Messrs McCubbin, Garrockhill.

Bullocks led the proceedings at Wallets Marts' store cattle sale, having sold to £1860 for Limousins from Messrs Forster, Harvieston, and to 356.9p per kg for Charolais from Messrs Mair, Bargatton.

Charolais also dominated the heifers at 335.9p for Messrs Park, Dalpeddar, and to £1620 for Messrs Shaw, Killochy, also achieving that price tag was an Aberdeen Angus from Messrs Sturrock, Barwhanny.

Some 831 store lambs cashed in at £104.36 having sold to £160 for Beltex from Messrs Jack, Dornells.
