While in Carlisle, a Charolais bullock topped at £2000, Limousin heifers sold for £1870, and 415 calves sold up to £605.

In Ayr, a Limousin heifer made £1900, Simmentals reached 392p per kg, and store hoggs hit £144, and finally, at Thainstone, Simmental heifers fetched up to 433.1p per kg and £2400, Aberdeen Angus bullocks sold for up to £1955, and store lambs reached £165.50.

Stirling UA

Bullocks (752) and heifers (777) averaged 306.94p per kg and 297.37p respectively at United Auctions' weekly store cattle sale.

Bullocks sold to 367.00p for a 376kg Limousin cross from Sketewan and to £2000 for a 674kg Charolais from Molemount.

A 500kg Simmental cross from Neuk, led the heifers at 370.00p, whilst a 725kg Aberdeen Angus cross made £1920 for Whitfield.

Bullocks led the proceedings at Wallets Marts' store cattle sale, having sold to £1860 for Limousins from Messrs Forster, Harvieston, and to 356.9p per kg for Charolais from Messrs Mair, Bargatton.

Charolais also dominated the heifers at 335.9p for Messrs Park, Dalpeddar, and to £1620 for Messrs Shaw, Killochy, also achieving that price tag was an Aberdeen Angus from Messrs Sturrock, Barwhanny.

Some 831 store lambs cashed in at £104.36 having sold to £160 for Beltex from Messrs Jack, Dornells.
