Milking heifers averaged £1628 at Craven Auction Marts’ show and sale of dairy cattle on Monday
Top price was £1950 paid for a fresh heifer by Zanderberg Art giving 28kg per day from M and R Smith of Winterburn, which sold to Mark Goodall, Tong.
The champion, one of their four fresh heifers from TD Goldie and Sons of the Wiskemanor herd, made £1800. Selling at this price was Wiskemanor Pharo Browngirl, which changed hands giving 29kg to David Smith, Skipton.
Calves peaked at £550 for a Limousin bull from G Hayton and EC Stocks of Bolton Abbey, while the pre-sale champion, a British Blue bull from RE Ayrton and Son of Eastby, made £490.
The same home also topped the heifer trade at £430 with a British Blue.
