Two fresh pedigree heifers from G B Moorhouse of the Aireburn herd, Bell Busk, Skipton, topped Gisburn Auction Marts’ sale at £3450 and £3400 respectively.

Sale leader was a Cherry-Lily Zip Lister daughter from the herd’s Rilla family, this one out of an Ex93 Chad dam with yields up to 11,478kg.

At £3400 was a Redcarpet sired Miss America out of the 60tonne Ex90, Camelot Miss America.

Both sold together to a Lancashire buyer.

A Cheshire buyer went to £2600 for the best from H and VE Jolly, Great Eccleston, Preston. Fieldside Enid 12 is a Nortonhill R2D2 daughter and is giving 37kg.

The same home sold their 36kg Fieldside Diana 7, by Denmire Minefield to the same Cheshire buyer for £2550, who also took a third Fieldside heifer at £2450, Diana 8 out of a 14,693kg dam and by Peak Altamaui.

The same buyer went to £2450 for Airebank Renegade Gem from DC Hall, Coniston Cold, Skipton, which sold giving 36kg.

Next best at £2400 was a Fortland heifer from J and N Hull and Sons, Winmarleigh, Preston. This was a Denovo Gateway daughter from their Roxette family which sold giving 35kg to BF Blezard, Ribchester, Preston.

Pedigree cows peaked at £2320 for a 45kg third calver from B and JM Crowe’s Yewbarrow herd at Witherslack, Grange-over-Sands. By Seagull-Bay Silver, the cow had given 12,088kg in its second note.

Leading the 26 non-pedigree heifers at £2420 was an entry from N and K Forshaw, Alston, Preston.
