A 690kg Limousin cross bullock from Messrs Muirhead, Wolfcrooks Cottage, achieved the top price of £1880 at Lawrie and Symington’s show and sale of 1127 store cattle.

Bullocks sold to 428.6p per kg for a 350kg Limousin cross from Messrs Steel, Cumberhead, to level at 305.84p.

A 496kg Charolais cross from Messrs Warnock, Dreva, led the heifer trade at £1720, whilst a 368kg Limousin cross made 434.8p for Messrs Meikle, West Flakefield, to average 288.61p.

The pre-sale judge, Sophie Watt, awarded her champion to a 444kg Limousin cross bullock from the Wight family, Midlock, which later made £1700.

Runner up went to a 426kg British Blue bullock from Messrs Comrie, Stonebyres, which sold for £1680.

Dairy bullocks sold to £1430 for a pen of three British Friesians at 582kg from Messrs Taylor, Blackburn Mains to level at 237.5p
