Moana, a British Blue cross heifer from Ali Dodd, secured the lead price of £3100 at Dumfries and Galloway's YFC Calf Rally staged at C and D Auction Marts' Dumfries.

Judge, Scott McKinnon, awarded the championship to the Limousin cross bullock, Black Berry from Tammy Campbell of Machars YFC, which later realised £1800.

Also forward were 590 store cattle, which sold to £1680 for Charolais cross bullocks from D Wilson and Son, Marwhirn, and to 336.6p per kg for Herefords for Ardlamy.

Heifers sold to £1650 for Charolais from I Burgoyne Shenrick and to 405p for Limousins from Newmains.
