A NUMBER of volume buyers boosted the recent dispersal of BQ Farms (South) Ltd’s Friesian type cattle at Glebe Farm, Cranford, Kettering, where averages were well ahead of expectations. 
Leading the milking entry at 1550gns was a daughter of Ked Outside Jeeves due with her second in August which sold, along with eight herd mates, to FM Faulks and Sons, Colston Bassett, Notts. 
The Falks family also paid 1500gns for a McCormick daughter also due in August. 
Another Jeeves daughter due with her second in August was in the money when she sold to AJ and GM Cliff Ltd, Chester, for 1500gns. 
Served heifers reached 1380gns for a Refined Kingpin daughter due in September. 
Calves at foot sold well and to a top of 660gns twice for Chalcliffe Ransom daughter, and it was Will Fox from Hook, Hampshire, that bought these along with 30 other youngsters. 


Averages:112 cows and calved heifers, £1153.17 (including 34 calves at £518); 38 served heifers, £1029.55; six maiden heifers, £532.00. Overall, 156 averaged £1099.16.
