STORE cattle sold to a top of 366.4p per kg for a 277kg Limousin cross heifer from Glenartney at United Auctions’ sale of 624.
Heifers (225) also reached £1200 for a 560kg Charolais cross from Binn and cashed in to average 221.51p.
The 357 bullocks levelled at 226.64p, having peaked at 265.1p for a 249kg Charolais cross from Knollhead and £1370 for a 594kg Charolais cross from Wester Middleton.
Averaging 142.51p, the 42 dairy bullocks reached 180.2p from Glenartney and £1080 from Gatehead.
A Charolais cross from Graystale led the cast cows at 183.6p with a Limousin cross from Binn at £1450. Overall, the 86 beef cows levelled at 131.7p while the 22 dairy types averaged 92.83p.

MORE cattle were required to fill demands at Harrison and Hetherington’s fortnightly sale, where trade hit a top of 251.5p per kg twice.
Making that price were pens of Aberdeen-Angus and Limousin cross bullocks from South Common, with Angus bullocks from Currie Inn leading the gross trade at £1190. Heifers sold to 236.2p for Limousins from South Common and £1090 for Limousins from Broomiebank.
Overall, bullocks levelled at 225.32p or £982.50 with heifers at 214.81p or £912.06.

Thainstone
ABERDEEN and Northern Marts sold a small entry of 145 store cattle, last week, where all stock was keenly bid for.
Setting the top price of 244.6p per kg was a 372kg Limousin cross heifer from Carlton House, 20 High Street, with heifers (56) also making £1245 for a 598kg Limousin cross from Hillside, Dufftown.
A pair of Limousin crosses weighing 332kg from Carlton House led the 72 bullocks at 241p with a pair of Limousin crosses from Hillside, Dufftown, making £1370.
Also on offer were 542 store lambs and feeding sheep where the 41 lambs hit £74.50 for continentals from Redhouse Barra, Oldmeldrum, with the 501 feeding sheep to £120 for Texels from Home Farm of Auchry, Cumminestown.

HEADING up Aberdeen and Northern Marts’ sale of 383 store cattle at Quoybrae, on Monday, at £1400, was the champion from the pre-sale show, a 632kg Limousin bullock from IS Sinclair, Clyth Mains, Occumster, Lybster.
Judge RF Miller, Greenhaugh Court, Braco, picked out a 391kg Limousin cross heifer from I Campbell, North Lyth, Wick, as reserve which later sold for £990.
Overall, 189 bullocks averaged 228.4p per kg and sold to to 278.4p for a 352kg Limousin cross from Quarryside, Castletown, and £1390 for a 637kg Limousin cross from Brae-edge, Castletown. Heifers (194) levelled at 219.1p, having peaked at 260.3p for a 365kg Charolais cross from Nottingham Mains, Latheron, and £1140 for five 516kg  Charolais crosses from Hoy Farm, Castletown.

HELD at Craig Wilson on Monday was the show and sale of Holstein Friesian dairy cattle where a two-year-old Holstein bull from W and J Armour, Milton, Moffat, topped the sale at 1750gns.
Annandale Dechamps, by Ladys- Manor PL Shamrock, was purchased by Wallace Clydnoch, Ochiltree.
AE and R MacIntyre, Dunallan, Rothesay, lead the heifer trade when they sold the November, 2013-born Dunallan Alma by Morcourt Hilton. She sold for 1350gns to Messrs Gatherer, Hill of Ochiltree, Ochiltree.
Another heifer from the same herd, Dunallan Patsy, sold for 1200gns to Messrs Robertson, Ballycurrie.

Stirling (Cal)
STORE bullocks averaged 215p per kg for the 112 sold and peaked at 262p for a pen of four British Blues from Graystale, Stirling, and £1180 twice from R and E Kyle, Inch of Leckie, Kippen, and D McKenzie, Ardgate, Gartocharn.
A Charolais heifer also from Inch of Leckie, lead the heifers at 244p, with a Charolais from Graystale to £1060. The 118 heifers on offer averaged 223p.
