BLACKCRAIG X Factor, an 11-month-old bull calf bred by John and Iain Finlay, Blackcraig, Corsock, has been sold privately, with a half share selling to Robert McTurk, Barlaes, for £10,000 and the breeders retaining the remainder.
Champion at Stewartry Show, last month, this bull boasts Canadian and Australian genetics, being sired by Blackcraig Vagrant – a son of the Canadian bull Glenfiddich Brodie – and bred from Diamond B Adelaide 5L.
The dam, Blackcraig Libby S401, is a daughter of Globex Winchester and bred from the show winning Australian cow, Finmac Libby N195 which won the Highland on three separate occasions and was also the dam of the inter-breed champion winner at Dumfries, this year, Blackcraig Sid, that also stood breed champion at the Royal Highland Show.
