A SMALL but select entry of British Blues sold to 3200gns at a breed show and sale at Chelford, which met a 100% clearance.
Sale leader was New Close Jupiter, a March 2014-born black and white bull from Staffordshire Breeders IE, M and A Wilson, Hollington, Stoke-on-Trent. He is out of a home-bred Empire daughter and sold to High Peak suckler producer, Henry Hallam, New Mills.
Close behind was another High Peak producer, Jonathan Hall from Youlgrave, Nr Bakewell, who paid 3000gns for Ingrestre Kracker, a Bringlee Derry son from Messrs Madders and Johnson, Deer Park, Hopton, Stafford.
Topping the females at 2300gns was Goldking Glenda, by Gitan and out of Waldo-sired cow. Consigned by Terry Goldstraw, Ash Tree, Kinsey Heath, Audlem, this entry and her heifer calf sold down to Cornwall with Gail and David Ellis, to join the Trencrom pedigree herd.
