Heifers sold to £1300 for a British Blue from JJ Johnstone and Sons, Low Flow, while weaned cattle hit a top of £1060 for a Limousin heifer from Holme Farm.
On Monday, the firm saw 374 store lambs forward, where trade was sharper on the week, with the best selling to £69.50 for Texel crosses from Messrs Ferguson, Priory Nook, Carlisle.
The opening sale of breeding sheep saw a pen of Texel cross gimmers from Messrs Scott, Mealrigg, Aspatria, sell for the lead price of £182.

Bullocks sold to 291.20p for a Limousin cross from Berryhill and to £1380 for a British Blue cross from Holmbyre, with heifers hitting a top of 261.20p for another Limousin cross from Berryhill and to £1230 for an Aberdeen Angus cross from Hexpath.
The 28 black and white bullocks forward saw a Holstein Friesian cross from Graystale hit 197.10p, while a British Friesian cross from Stobshiel sold for £800, to average 132p.

CHAROLAIS cross bullocks dominated Aberdeen and Northern Marts sale of 779 store cattle at Thainstone, where a pen of four weighing 394kg from Tullo of Garvock, Laurencekirk, sold for 271.6p per kg and a 662kg pen from Newton of Auchindoir, Rhynie, made £1465. The 364 bullocks averaged 227.2p (+2p on the week).
The 380 averaged 215.1p (-4.6p) having peaked at 266.9p for a 236kg Charolais cross from Upper Forgie, Keith, and to £1290 for a 592kg Limousin cross from Gowanwell, Auchnagatt.
Organic bullocks (16) levelled at 232p and sold for 260.5p for a pair of Shorthorn crosses weighing 238kg from Edinglassie Mains, Glass, and to £880 for a 394kg Stabiliser cross from New Holland, Holm.
Heifers (19) averaged 226.1p peaking at 241p for five 222kg Aberdeen Angus crosses from Edinglassie Mains and £840 for a Stabliser cross from New Holland.
Orkney and Shetland cattle saw bullocks sell to a top of 258p and £1440 for a 558kg Limousin from Quoymorhouse, Shapinsay, with heifers to 233.7p for a 522kg Charolais from Quoymorhouse. They hit £1220 twice for a 522kg Charolais from Quoymorhouse and for 550kg Charolais from West Brough Farms, Sanday.
On Wednesday, the firm sold 173 head of breeding cattle, which saw an excellent trade throughout.

A SMALL selection of cattle met a strong demand at Wallets Marts first store sale of the year, held at Castle Douglas, where 64 store and OTM cattle saw bullocks average 214.6p and heifers level at 204p.
Trade reached £1000 for a pen of Limousin cross bullocks from Messrs Welsh, Lochurr, and to
236.4p for a pen of Simmentals from I and A Burgess, Maryfield.
In the heifers, trade peaked at £900 for Salers crosses from Falbae and to 231.4p for Blonde crosses from Maryfield.
Despite a plainer show of OTM cattle forward, a Simmental cow sold for the top price of £1057.50 from Graplin Farms and to 131p for another from the same home, with bulls selling to 108p for a Simmental from Wellhill.
Featured in the sale was the dispersal of in-lamb Scotch Mules ewes from W McTaggart and Co, Kilquhanity. Scanned in-lamb to a Texel, they topped at £140 for gimmers and £128 for ewes, to average £115.63.

SOME 1364 store cattle and 155 cast cows were forward for United Auctions’ sale, where 773 bullocks averaged 215.88p per kg and 512 heifers levelled at 211.85p.
Bullocks sold to 291.20p for a Limousin cross from Berryhill and to £1380 for a British Blue cross from Holmbyre, with heifers hitting a top of 261.20p for another Limousin cross from Berryhill and to £1230 for an Aberdeen Angus cross from Hexpath.
The 28 black and white bullocks forward saw a Holstein Friesian cross from Graystale hit 197.10p, while a British Friesian cross from Stobshiel sold for £800, to average 132p.
Cast cows (135) averaged 117.38p having peaked at 144.1p for a Charolais cross from Balmirmer and to £1270 for an Aberdeen Angus cross from Easter Clunie.

CHAROLAIS cross bullocks dominated Aberdeen and Northern Marts sale of 779 store cattle at Thainstone, where a pen of four weighing 394kg from Tullo of Garvock, Laurencekirk, sold for 271.6p per kg and a 662kg pen from Newton of Auchindoir, Rhynie, made £1465.
The 364 bullocks averaged 227.2p (+2p on the week).
The 380 heifers averaged 215.1p (-4.6p) having peaked at 266.9p for a 236kg Charolais cross from Upper Forgie, Keith, and to £1290 for a 592kg Limousin cross from Gowanwell, Auchnagatt.
Organic bullocks (16) levelled at 232p and sold for 260.5p for a pair of Shorthorn crosses weighing 238kg from Edinglassie Mains, Glass, and to £880 for a 394kg Stabiliser cross from New Holland, Holm.
Heifers (19) averaged 226.1p peaking at 241p for five 222kg Aberdeen Angus crosses from Edinglassie Mains and £840 for a Stabliser cross from New Holland.
Orkney and Shetland cattle saw bullocks sell to 258p and £1440 for a 558kg Limousin from Quoymorhouse, Shapinsay, with heifers to 233.7p for a 522kg Charolais from Quoymorhouse. They hit £1220 twice for a 522kg Charolais from Quoymorhouse and for 550kg Charolais from West Brough Farms, Sanday.
The firm’s sale of 173 of breeding cattle two days previously, saw an excellent trade and a top price of £2200 three times for British Blue bulls from Chapel Park, Mintlaw.

A SMALL sale of cattle met a strong demand at Wallets Marts first store sale of the year, where bullocks averaged 214.6p and heifers at 204p.
Trade reached £1000 for Limousin cross bullocks from Lochurr, and 236.4p for Simmentals from Maryfield.
Heifers peaked at £900 for Salers crosses from Falbae and 231.4p for Blonde crosses from Maryfield.
An added feature was the dispersal of in-lamb Scotch Mules ewes from Kilquhanity due to Texel rams which were topped at £140 for gimmers and £128 for ewes, to average £115.63.
