SOLID commercial demand for the Limousin breed at the Northern Ireland club sale at Dungannon, saw a 100% clearance rate with 15 bulls selling to average £2987, up £285 on the year.
Topping the trade at 5000gns was the pre-show sale champion, Drumagarner Luke, from Barney O’Kane and Son, Coleraine, Co Derry. This August 2015-born bull, originally bred by E McCloskey, Kilrea, Coleraine, is by Ampertaine Gigolo and out of Drumagarner Begley. He sold to Peter Gormley, Carrickmore, Co Tyrone.
Next in the trade stakes at 3600gns was Lynderg Lancaster from Northern Ireland Limousin club president, Jim Quail, Bainbridge. Senior male champion, this May 2015-born son of Lynderg Hero, out of Lynderg Ethel, was purchased by Daniel Harrison, Annalong, Co Down.
Just behind at 3500gns, Brian Hall, Newtownabbey, Co Antrim, sold Ballyhone Leon, a Loosebeare Fantastic son that stood first in his class at the pre-show sale and goes out to work for Jim Hayes at Dungannon, Co Tyrone.
